Bible

Me and Chandra have been trying to read through the bible in a year. We started at the beginning of the year and both of us were doing really well, however now one of us is a little behind( I'll let you decide who is behind).

I think it is amazing how hard it is just to put aside 20-30 minutes a day to read the bible. Of course having three kids yelling, screaming, and just being kids around you while trying to read doesn't seem to to help.

Any reading of the Bible is good reading. You can carry a new testament in your pocket and read when you have spare time away from home. When Helen was sick, I read the New Believers Bible New Testament through 3 times in a short time highlighting and writing notes in it. Each time I read it something new came out.
I think that the secret is to pray for what you need to know, and then read and you will find the answer.

I find it difficult to put aside enough time to pray. I pray for each Weaver and Wilson by name which is 150+. Then each name brings up more extended family which can become mind-boggling. I guess I need to ask God to help me manage my time wisely.

What spare time? When Chandra is away from home she usually has the three kids with her and she is doing errands. If she is some how sneaking away and getting some spare time alone I would like to know how and when so I could join her.

When I am away I am shoeing horses the entire time. Very seldom do I get any spare time and when I do it usually involves calling customers back, ordering supplies, or trying to straighten up my truck.

Not all of us are retired. :)
